Jasper Engines And Transmissions
Reviews and Complaints
So far so good.
I had my transmission replaced on my 2002 Honda Accord 15 months ago. So far it’s holding up fine and I’ve put 12k miles on it since the transmission replacement with a Jasper one.
I have to admit though, some of these comments are freaking me out a little. I hope it will continue to hold up o_O but so far it’s running fine.
7.3L Diesel Fuel Injectors
Well it had been quite a few years since I had tried Jasper Injectors. The injector wiring off the injector had bare wires that could touch and short out.
So my sales guy kept telling me about all the updates that they do and how great they are so we bought 8 injectors.
4 OUT OF 8 WERE BAD.....OUT OF THE REPLACEMENTS 2 WERE BAD. The delivery driver told us he just picked up 2 bad ones from another shop in a town over.....By Ford Injectors and you won't be sorry...Jaspers customer service sucked and so did their labor warranty....I just was installing an Engine from them that we ordered in about the same time as the injectors and guess what...missing parts they do not tell you about until after your purchase a $3500 engine for a $25.00 part that needs to be special order from a few states away....way to go Jasper....makes me long for the days of Bonded Motors and Densmore Engines....Jasper Engines are POS

Who freakin knows?
Last year I took My 1999 F-350 with 186k on it’s 7.3 Power Stroke Diesel in to Bills Garage in Taylor MI.
It took until April to get a Jasper engine and until Almost July to finally get it done.
The replacement is knocking louder and has less power and performance than the engine that had a slight knock when removed.
After two returns to the original garage (300 miles each way) it’s at Hillman Tire in Hillman MI now... and I’m still without a truck!
So I DONT KNOW if they are worth a crap?
I do know they need to monitor installs a *** of a lot better!
So the nightmare begins
Cheap gaskets in installation kits. 30 thousand miles and a leaking oil cooler gasket.
Low and behold not covered under warranty. I have never heard of a gasket failing this fast.
Theory is cheap part. Now out 6 hours in labor to replace it.
Jasper transmission failure less than 2500 miles. Warranty was handled badly.
I purchased the transmission from American Pride in York County, VA. An authorized Jasper dealer.
The original transmission was slipping in reverse after 87k miles. All other gears worked fine. I paid an extra 1000 for a total of 4800 to install a Jasper replacement to improve towing reliability. The transmission was an upgrade from the standard.
American Pride completely flushed the cooler and replaced all the transmission lines due to the fact that the original lines did not connect to new transmission. The transmission seem to do fine. The 1996 Cummins diesel was rated at 400 ft lbs of torque and the new transmission was rated at 1250 ft lbs of torque. You would think this transmission would last forever.
The transmission failed at 89k while towing a 5000 lb trailer with the Dodge 2500 diesel. The transmission blew a seal and all the fluid was pumped out unknown while traveling at highway speed. The noise was the clue that something was very wrong. Pulled into a Food Lion parking lot and then noticed my trailer was covered in transmission fluid.
I contacted Jaspar. I was told they would reimburse 70 / hr labor rate which would not cover the Dodge dealer ship labor rate. I was 6 hours from home with a two year old Airstream covered in transmission fluid. Jasper hinted the failure was probably due to a bad cooler of plugged ATX lines.
This is total garbage since the work was performed by authorized Jasper installer who told me they flushed the cooler and replaced all ATX lines. Jasper could not give me a time to repair and told me the old one had to be shipped back before they could honor the repairs. With my wife in tears I elected to trade in a *** of a nice truck to purchase a new. The way Jasper handles the warranty left me sick to my stomach and out 4800 for a 6-7 month old Jasper re-manufactured transmission with less than 2500 miles.
I will never ever spend money on a Jasper engine or transmission. Bad company and blame everything but there faulty transmission.
- Qualty was not what i expected
- Having to pay out of my pocket for warranty

Great product and company
Back in 2011, I had a Jasper transmission installed in my 2005 Ford E-250 van with a 5.4 liter engine. I was working at the time and had the work done in Virginia (I lived in Michigan) and the mechanic was unknown to me.
I still run the vehicle with 730,000 miles on the original engine and now about 280,000 on the Jasper tranny. I had a warranty issue a few months after purchase, but they told me what to do and I had the tranny repaired in North Carolina. It cost me about $60, but Jasper paid the other $500. Since then, I have had no issues with this product and it is still working fine.
I did drive mostly highway miles, but I am very satisfied with this transmission. Regular fluid and filter changes certainly helped extend its life.
I would recommend this product and company based on my experience with them. I have almost 7 years of proof through ownership and usage.
Warranty scams
Replaced engine after 6k miles because fuel injector pump exploded. Jasper sent the motor but would not cover install cost.
Jasper said water in fuel caused part to fail. As a certified mechanic myself and 2nd opinions. This would be 1 chance in a million cause. Jasper would not look at injectors themselves to verifie finding.
Out 2250 for install and 6500 for 2 weeks expenses in CA. +lost wages
Don't stand behind your product the only thing behind your
Jasper is junk as a dealer I have installed 5 engines in various vehicles all of them failed most recently had a 2008 chevy suburban engine went after 20,000 miles . they sent the replacement ask them does this start a new warranty he says yes we put the engine in . this week engine is knocking again only about 30,000 miles on it call they tell me it is out of warranty so now I have a pissed off customer who of course is furious and a company "jasper" who talk like they are the worlds greatest reman company and the truth of the matter is I would have been better off putting a junkyard engine in it .so we took it upon our self To but a huge decal across the back window that says "do you hear that knock "that is a jasper engine that they don't stand behind " and the customer is driving it around til it finally dies I will never use jasper again and I am friends with a lot of other repair shops in the area that will not be using them ever again as a dealer I am ashamed that my customer had to go thru this

They would not take care of the warranty. I had to pay upfront to have it removed and then installed again. Jasper would only pay if they found that the engine failure was there fault. So I had to wait to get paid back, WHAT A JOKE!!!
Do a quick Google or YouTube search for Jasper Engines Reviews and you will see tons and tons of bad reviews. Go anywhere but here, Jasper Sucks!!!! Look at LQK, a dealership, anywhere but here.

We bought a Jasper engine to replace the original motor in our 2010 F150. 13 months and 21000 miles later and motor has problem.
Jasper say to replace it but wait you have to pay labor and we will test it and see if it is our problem. Then we will reimburse the labor. So what do you think they are going to say? I will be out the labor I'm sure.
DO NOT get anything from Jasper!
Be very suspect of anyone who recommends one also. Their customer service is some of the worst I have that I ever had the opportunity to work with.

Leaks oil from every seal and o ring
From intial install leaked oil and fuel from every fitting. Replaced every o ring on the Injectors.
Every oil seal. Front seal 4 times. Not jasper fault their seal but they didn't install. 2700 miles leaking oil like the valdez.
Shop says rear main only seal that hasn't been changed. Pan bolts were all loose missing two bolts. Rear main should be replaced tomorrow will see if warranty pays and leaks are cured.
Would not recommend this motor. 2001 dodge Cummins 5.9
Resolved: Not what i expected
they blue me off twice
Had to replace dist. and found that the engine had a helicoil insert installed on number one cylinder spark plug hole not what I paid so much money for I wish Jasper would check their installers better I am sure if the installer had done a better job, I would not be so dissatisfied with the motor that I paid so much money for I had heard such great things about their engines so I spent the large amount of money for it, wish I had just had my other engine rebuilt and saved myself all the money and grief it has caused me
